Busy Bugs

Our junior preschoolers or the Busy Bugs class is a place filled with the excitement of busy little learners and their caring and energetic teachers. The children in this class prefer to be independent but they still enjoy the love and attention they receive from our staff. The majority of the children in this classroom are able to recognize when they have to use the potty and are able to communicate their needs to their caregivers. However, there are some children who are still working on being able to consistently communicate their needs in this area.

The Busy Bugs classroom is staffed one teacher for every eight children. Since we understand that play is such an important process for these young learners, we offer numerous activities for the “busy bugs” to do just that. Each day the children are given opportunities to build, pretend, and use a variety of supplies to create their own artistic masterpieces for their parent’s enjoyment. They are also asked to follow established routines such as bathroom, wash up, clean up, nap, and circle times for stories, songs, and to introduce table time activities. Our table time activities might include such things as learning letters, numbers, colors, and solving puzzles.

Each week, the class is invited to participate in music and movement class on Tuesdays and music class on Wednesdays for an additional fee. The children are provided outdoor time to play with balls, games, and to continue to explore to make sense of the world around them. As in all of our other classes, a report is sent home daily with each child to inform his/her parents about some of the highlights from the day and the parents are able to view their child over the course of the day through our webcam.
